RYAN Giggs is hoping his Welsh side can replicate the Euro 2016 spirit and get the whole country behind them for the crucial visit of Hungary.

Wales require one final win to qualify for Euro 2020, and Giggs is confident that his side has the quality to get them over the line.

The Manchester United legend was not involved with the side when they performed heroics at the 2016 Championships, but was aware of the atmosphere and wants to see it replicated again this evening.

“What the team did in 2016, whether you were involved or you were a fan travelling to the games or watching it on TV, was amazing.

“If we can recreate that atmosphere it will be fantastic, but it’s not about individuals.”

The Red Dragons produced a professional display a secure a crucial 2-0 win over Azerbaijan in Baku on Saturday, and Giggs is encouraged by the form his team are showing.

“We’re in good form and we’ve gathered some momentum,” he added.

“I think we’ve put ourselves in a great position but we need to finish the job off.”

“We have to show quality, but the players are ready for the challenge.

Despite the win against Azerbaijan, Wales needed Croatia to do them a favour by beating Slovakia, and they duly obliged by coming from a goal down to win 3-1.

The result meant that Wales’ fate is back in their own hands, as they look to seal a second successive appearance at the finals.

“It’s in our hands now and it’s a great challenge. It’s an exciting challenge but it will be a very difficult night.

“We have to show the belief that we’ve shown and the quality we have and be brave on the ball.

“We’ll have to better than we were the other night but we have shown quality and I believe in these players.”

The 45-year-old has his full squad to pick from, with key players Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey both “ready to start” together for the first time in over a year.
