WALES Women’s manager Jayne Ludlow has named her squad ahead of the Cyprus Cup, which will be played in two weeks’ time.

The side includes three Welsh Premier Women’s League representatives, including Swansea City’s Ellie Lake who captained the U19s side to the Elite Round of the UEFA U19 Championship back in September.
Also included, University of South Wales pair Gemma Evans and Hannah Miles, who both ply their trade for Yeovil Town Ladies in the Women’s Super League 1, the highest level of football in England.
Amina Vine, Alice Griffiths and Nadia Lawrence are currently without clubs but were part of the Wales Performance squad that Ludlow oversaw, hence their inclusion.
Wales have three scheduled fixtures out in Cyprus, as they come up against Finland, Italy and Switzerland in the space of six days.
All three sides are ranked higher than the Red Dragons, with Italy and Switzerland ranked 17th and 18th in the world rankings, which will prove a tough ask for Jayne Ludlow’s side.
Wales finished fifth in last year’s Cyprus Cup, having finished second in Group C, before losing on penalties to Scotland in a fifth-placed play-off.
They will have confidence going into this one though, as they have yet to taste defeat in their World Cup qualifying group.
Their next World Cup qualifier is away to old rival England, who are the only other side who have an unbeaten record.
