Date: Wednesday 14th January 12:30
Venue: USW Sport Park, Treforest.
THE University of South Wales play their final fixture of the season, as they welcome bottom side Cardiff University to the Sport Park.
Gail Calford’s side has an outside chance of finishing 4th but will have to overturn an 18 goal deficit with the hope that Cardiff Metropolitan University 3rds lose to league leaders Winchester. USW have finished fourth in their last two seasons.
It’s been two weeks since the side last played, having suffered a 40-22 defeat away at Cardiff University 4th at Talybont, back in February.
USW go into the game with four victories and five defeats, whilst Cardiff University are rock bottom, with just a point picked up throughout the whole season, with a draw against second-placed Bristol University 4th.
In USW’s last match, Goal Attack Emma Roberts didn’t play as she had in recent weeks. Instead, Emma Morgan filled in for her, with that being a key selection headache for Calford.
The away side have a goal difference of -187 and will be relegated following their poor set of results this season.
Elsewhere in the Western 3B Division, Bristol University 4th host Cardiff University 4th, whilst the University of Winchester 1st travel to Cyncoed Campus in a game which could see them clinch the title.
